Waterfalls

How high is the Staubbach waterfall?

About 297 metres — the local tourist board calls it the highest free-falling waterfall in Switzerland. You can see it from the village.

What are the Trümmelbach falls?

Ten waterfalls inside the mountain, reached by a tunnel lift, carrying up to 20,000 litres a second from the glaciers of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

When are the Trümmelbach falls open, and what do they cost?

Daily from early April to early November (9 November in 2026): 9:00–17:00 in April–June and September–November, 8:30–18:00 in July and August. Adults from CHF 18, children 6–15 from CHF 8.

How do I get up to Mürren?

By cableway from Stechelberg. With a gradient of 159.4%, the operator calls it the steepest cableway in the world; it continues up to the Schilthorn.

How much is the Schilthorn?

A return from Stechelberg costs CHF 115 for an adult, or CHF 91.40 from Mürren, on fares valid to 12.12.2026. The summit, Piz Gloria, is at 2,970 m.
